Goo Goo Dolls Biography and Event Details

Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls developed from punk and alternative roots into one of pop rock's enduring acts. Vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac have led the band through a career spanning more than three decades. Their 1998 album Dizzy Up the Girl became a defining release, featuring “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.” “Iris” became a signature song and a generational singalong, while earlier and later favorites include “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine.”

The group's more recent releases include Chaos in Bloom (2022), alongside a continuing touring schedule. The supplied event lineup lists Def Leppard and The Struts with the Goo Goo Dolls; the specific set times and running order have not been provided. Fans can look forward to a guitar-led arena performance shaped by a deep catalog of melodic rock, though the setlist for this date has not been confirmed. Detroit's long-running live-music culture makes the city a fitting stop for a bill spanning multiple eras of rock.
